Asasonthamar

Asasonthamar (2Chron 20:2) "Cutting of the Pain", the city of the Amorrhean, smitten by Chodorlahomor (Gen 14:7) in his war against the cities of the plain. --- Asasonthamar, "the palm-tree cottage," (Bochart) between Jericho and the Dead Sea.

2 Chron 20:2 • And there came messengers, and told Josaphat, saying: There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea, and out of Syria, and behold they are in Asasonthamar, which is Engaddi.

Gen 14:7 • And they returned, and came to the fountain of Misphat, the same is Cades: and they smote all the country of the Amalecites, and the Amorrhean that dwelt in Asasonthamar.
